The Owls Foundation, a Netherlands-based institution whose aim is to contribute to an ongoing discussion on innovations and breakthrough processes, wanted a simple website where their first publication, Breakthrough: From Innovation to Impact, could be downloaded for free and where data could be collected.
Rowntree Media built The Owls Projects, a WordPress site using the Genesis Framework and Foodie Pro child theme. Although Foodie was designed with food-lovers and cooks in mind, its elegance and spare, minimal design made it ideal for the Owls Foundation’s style: uncluttered and straightforward.
We used the Gravity Forms plugin for the data collection, and bumped up the SEO of what was essentially a 4-page site with individual biographical pages for the many contributors to the book as well as for the chapters themselves.
The website was subsequently moved to a new domain: www.theowlsfoundation.com and in 2016 given a new look.
Freelance designer Martin Colyer, who designed the book, provided the header logo.
